LA’S RICH & SUCCESSFUL FILM FESTIVAL

OUR STORY

The Rich & Successful Film Festival (RSFF) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting emerging filmmakers and expanding public access to independent film in Los Angeles. Founded in 2021, RSFF curates a slate of short films by LA-based filmmakers across all genres, bringing together artists and audiences through screenings, events, and educational programming.

RSFF has sold out each of its four iterations. Our audiences include emerging filmmakers, industry professionals, and members of the broader film community, creating opportunities for discovery, learning, and meaningful engagement with independent cinema.

As filmmakers ourselves, we understand the challenges of creating and sharing independent work. RSFF was created to support artists while also providing the public with access to new and diverse voices in cinema, fostering a space where creativity, learning, and community can thrive.

WORKSHOPS & EVENTS

Furthering our mission of education and community engagement, RSFF is a non-competitive festival. Instead of awards, we provide workshops, panels, and resources for filmmakers, along with public programming that encourages learning, collaboration, and access to independent film.

We originally named our festival “rich and successful” aspirationally, if a bit ironically. The reality is that many emerging filmmakers are working with limited resources, in an industry that often defines success by money or status. We’re interested in redefining that. After multiple sold-out celebrations and dozens of films screened, “rich and successful” has come to mean something different: a creative community where artists are supported, audiences gain access to new voices, and people leave feeling enriched by shared experience, connection, and discovery. We feel rich and successful in that sense—and we hope you do too.
